FANMAIL! We love all your letters, please keep them coming, regretably we can't always reply to them but we promise that we always read them all, below is a small selection of some of the feedback we get. [reader text in black, webmaster reply in red]
A NIGERIAN LADY WRITES; Hey there... Sherry Gere This goes to prove that all Nigerian people cannot be stereotyped as scammers, in fact it is a relatively small percentage of the Nigerian population who participate in 419 fraud, indeed there is no middle class in Nigeria, you've either got money or you haven't and most people who are scamming are those who can afford the $2 an hour for the internet cafes. $2 is a lot of money to the average Nigerian. As for stopping them, it's unfortunately very difficult because of the anarchic laws in Nigeria and the sheer volume of scammers. The scammers are highly organised and they probably harvested your details from an internet guestbook. |

SCAM VICTIMS ARE GREEDY? Hiya Webmaster, I am not so sure I am with you there... these guys seem to be rather
resourceful, an all they really do is try to make money off STUPID and last
not least GREEDY people. Get me a spammer guy with a "IMA TOSSER" photo and
then I am with you. It's ironic that the actions of West African scammers are actually dragging Africa into the same technological realm as the Western world, let's not forget that the internet caught on in America largely because of Porn, ironically another illegal activity is also making this technology viable in Africa. Are they resourceful? For sure, of course they are and hopefully when the technology has properly penetrated Africa we'll see Nigerians using their technological know how in a legal way. Are their victims stupid and
greedy? Hmm, well that's an interesting point and I believe that most
people wouldn't fall for the scam but there are a percentage of the
population that are vulnerable to this type of scam, there always will
be but two wrongs don't make a right. GAY 419! I read this through and laughed like a drain for about an hour.
Nice to know we're appreciated, it is indeed a particularly twisted scambait and it earned us a muggie award over at 419eater for funniest voicemail.
ELDERLY VICTIM I read your website with a tear in my eye, my 74 year old grandmother was caught out with a similar scam, the bastards took the £2,000 she had saved for her funeral expenses, I am really upset by this, I bought her the computer for her 72nd birthday so that she could communicate with her brother in Canada. She has not been the same since. I am honestly very grateful for people like you who expose the scam and is such a shame that she didn't see this website before she was caught out. I would like to buy you guys a beer, give me your postal address and I'll send you a cheque. Adam. Thank you for your email Adam, we were gutted when we read it. This is the reason why we bait these people, they are criminals and nothing else. Unfortunately we do not divulge our personal details however if you really want to buy us a pint feel free to use the paypal buttons dotted around the site. May we wish your Grandmother all the best and good health and we hope that this experience has not put her off using the internet, she must be a very wonderful lady to adapt to new technology at her age.
WHAT'S UP DOC? Hello there, Janne's
Site. Thank you for the email and keep up the good work! Your link has been added on our links page, there are some great baits on your site (the English ones, unforunately I can't read finnish!).

A MAN WITH NIGERIAN PARENTAGE WRITES.. Listen, this was the best piece of work I've come across in a long time. See, my parents are Nigerians but my mother and I live in the US. I was born in the US. After a visit to Nigeria a few years back, I remember giving my business cards to some "relatives." Ever since I came back, my phone has been going off non stop. It's the most annoying thing, to pick up my phone and hear those god forsaken peeps. Sometimes, someone actually comes through on the line and just says "fax number, let me have your fax number" Man do I wanna kill 'em. Take care and keep up the good work. I bet you probably know a bunch of Nigerian in the UK, but if you ever need any further info lemme know. I'm actually working on a screenplay surrounding this, and my research led me to your website. You can check out the temporary production website of my latest project:
Kennys film it's just a short film, however, the screenplay that I'm writing is for a feature film that I plan on shooting in the US and Nigeria next year. Not sure if Kenny is really a Nigerian but this was such a nice email that we published it including the link to his forthcoming film. And sorry to disappoint you, the two people who run this site.. One sells fish for a living, the other is an insurance broker.. We are definately not reverends.. Also, while we like to take the piss out of these guys we don't actually wish them any physical harm... Just empty wallets.
ED TRIES BAITING FOR HIMSELF..
Congratulations on making one of the funniest
sites on the net. If I may say so, it's a pisser.
I've just started baiting, I'm not very good at
it yet. I need more practice. Thankfully they keep coming!
Can't wait to see your next bait - any news on it
yet?
Keep up the good work!
Ed
Hi Ed, We hope that you continue with your baiting and help the cause! Thanks for enjoying the baits but remember to stay safe when baiting the guys. Never reveal your identity.
